My thoughts on a very very cheap way to teach the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, and maintaining those fundamentals.
Crossman Stinger P311 (1911 look alike) Airsoft $14.97 & 5000 airsoft bb’s 12.97. So for about $29 bucks after taxes at Walmart I would say considering the current situation with real guns and live ammo this is a pretty decent alternative for this purpose. It shoots fairly accurate, from 10-12 ft I can shoot a silver dollar coin size group down to about half dollar coin size group depending on how accurate I want to be.
Now this is not a real 1911 in .45ACP no rifling in the barrel, sights are not adjust to perfection, it shoots a plastic ball down a smooth plastic barrel, etc so it does not shoot spot on accurate, I was grouping low and just a hair right of where I was actually aiming. Also the rear sight is totally black and there is only a small white area on the front sight post and in the well evening as the sun was setting it was making it kinda of challenging to get a really really good sight picture alignment.
But if you shoot pistol I would recommend this exact airsoft gun just to maintain those shooting fundamentals, plus you can shoot this in your back yard (depending on your state and local laws). Cheap self adhesive targets that show your hits and a cardboard box is all you need.
Fig Rig stabilizer made of PVC pipe. I got this idea from “The frugal filmmaker”
It’s 3/4 inch PVC all glued together and spray painted flat black. Very very cheap to make, initial testing worked well (needs practice though) it’s sturdy and very light weight.
Here’s the link for more information on making your own.
