Ran TMACS “Set It Off” and “Turn and Burn” drills yesterday like 20 times each. Was a lot of fun, I like the idea of PT and shooting guns.
And yes Trijicon HD Night Sights are very nice pistol sights indeed!
Just a short gif I made using some still photo’s my wife took of me while I was shooting my Sig Pro 2022 9mm.
Me and some folks plan on doing the Spartan Race at WinterGreen here in Virginia on August 23rd, just a idea of what it is for those who have no clue what this or races similar to this are. Looking forward to running it, good times, living life.
Just something put together early this year with footage from last year. Can’t wait for another ride to the hills when the leaves are peaking in color.
Man it’s been I can saw a few year since I posted this and even longer since I filmed it. I miss riding my bike, making video’s, the mountains, country folk I meet, motorcycle friends, all that fun stuff. Anyway being I used NIN as the music, I think it sums up well what I am trying to get across. A connection with doing what you love.
I don’t believe I ever posted this photo on Tumblr before. This was my first mountain ride when I moved back to Virginia when I left Active Duty Navy in 2009.
Now how I ended up going on this ride well that was unplanned. Basically I had been all over google maps looking for roads in Goochland/Powhatan Counties in Virginia to ride. So I was making my way up SR 711 (Huguenot Trail) and as I came up upon the intersection of the 711 and 522, there was a BP gas station on my right. 2 guys with motorcycles at the pumps, they heard me coming down the road, and one guy just threw his arms up at me. So I went around and pulled into the BP and asked if they knew some good roads. Basically I was told we’ll that’s where we are going, and so it began for me, the at least 100 trips up to SR 56 along the part named “Crabtree Falls HWY” and many other roads in the western part of Virginia.
Note* Once time me and a buddy counted what we considered turns on google maps, and I think the 10 or 11 miles stretch of this road that goes through George Washington park I know we counted over 200 turns.
Scrolling through my previous posts, I think this picture does the best to sum up why I loved motorcycles and riding. Not to be in a club, or at a gas station hanging out, or who can go the fastest from one stop light to the next downtown in 100 meters. It was so I could be free, to enjoy life and other beautiful things about it, the mountains in George Washington park behind me, the calm and beauty, just a few friends who all love to ride enjoying and living why they love to ride. I’ll get back there, or at least I hope I do assuming my medical condition steaming from my TBI doesn’t put a permanent end to that. And even if it does, the thought of doing something motorcycle vise for Veterans and Active Military alike has been a constant thought in my mind for quite a while now.
Ah summer of 2011. Me and my wife and our daughter trailer’d my FZ1 to the mountains. I was hoping that my wife would get some good shots with my at the time new DSLR camera still photo’s and video. (In case you don’t know I was making motorcycle video’s and other video’s at one time and taking lots of photo’s) Anyway this is a pull off on RT60 just outside of Buena Vista, VA. Very nice road with nice turns and a good surface. This was right before I loaded up and we headed back home, it was already hot as fuck when this pic was taken, and to the point of becoming unbearable to keep riding in leathers in the heat and humidity, just couldn’t stay hydrated long enough before sweating it out. But it was fun, I miss those days, the FZ1 hasn’t moved in over 2 years, but I still have not sold it, maybe next year it will make a come back.
Made a trip to Fort Lee yesterday evening with the family since Ft. Lee is much closer than the nearest Naval Base, had to get some new boots and also look for this sticker right here that I proudly put on my Jeep after we got back.
